COVID-19

I reported breaking news and investigative longform pieces for The Cornell Daily Sun as Cornell University and Ithaca's government set up surveillance testing systems, learned to treat symptoms, and educated students remotely. When students and community residents expressed concerns about equity and safety, I amplified their voices through detailed reporting. Once vaccines became available, I helped inform people about how and where to access this vital preventive treatment. Throughout the many tragedies of the pandemic, I learned trauma-informed reporting strategies to do high quality work while remaining sensitive to the needs of my sources and readers. I will take the hard-earned lessons of pandemic reporting to my future work.
